The airplanes that are used in air racing are incredible machines.

Just one second in the life of a racer! Enjoy

Amazing. I hung of every statistic. Their mad bastards, but brilliant. Not too happy about them spilling 36 litres of oil into our atmosphere every running hour, when their not going anywhere. Do they have to wear a helmet? Who tests them? Do they wear tha same helmet in Oz?  (popcorn)

For a pilot, like my self, i must say that there is a lot of practice and skills involved in that type of flying...

When you fly you get the sensation of freedome. The speed, the sound and engineering gives you an awesome feeling that is similar to riding bikes :good2:
A lot of pilots do indeed ride bikes. So why don't they all ride an FJ? Lets bee honest and say it! FJ is the best beast on the road   :good:
Whant to check out my photos on the bike??

I have to disagree...a Hayabusa is the best. Gen1 with Yosh cams. -.007 head milling, porting....good dyno tune with a USB3....almost 190 RWHP. I've ridden to mid Ohio from Massachusetts 4 times straight. Liquid cooling rules for those long rides when you do not know what traffic you will run into.

...or a ZX14....they are really nice too.

Well, I guess it boils down to ones personal preference when it comes to whats best and not.. :nyam1:
But I have tried the Hayabusa and its a really nice bike, technological its way past the FJ.. But still, I would prefere the FJ.

Some like the mother others the dougher... hehe  :good2:

Cheers

I'm fascinated with air racing, one of my favorites was the Pond Racer, a Rutan design. This little plane had two Nissan VG30E six cylinder 3.0 litre turbocharged engines prepared by Electramotive, they put out 1000 horsepower each. The engines were so tightly cowled that they required ground cooling after each flight. It had a forward swept wing which created some instabilty but reduced parasitic drag. Some instability is desirable because it makes an airplane more manueverable. Unfortunately, this instability also contributed to the subsequent crash of this airplane.
Here's a clip;
