SOULFUNKDUP

Hi I'm new here and to the FJ scene.  Just got an 89 FJ in what I think is petty good condition.  Has 25K miles and so far its been an amazing bike.  I'm coming from an 86 VFR700 that I pretty much only rode for 4 months and that was about 3 years ago.  Had a few dirtbikes growing up, all of them 20 years older than I was but had so much fun on them I knew I'd return to two wheels at some point.

Just wanted to say hello and thanks for all the info so far.  I have much to learn about these bikes and their potentail, time to poke around alittle more.

welcome mate, youve made a great choice of bike to get back into it, , the fj does everything well,, and with some time and effort can be made even better if you feel the need
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

Thanks, I'm going to need some suspenions upgrades soon and I'd like to do a rim swap in the rear.  Maybe the front too... want to sort out the maintenance first but I can tell the mods will come.  I love the power of this bike, more than I need I'm sure but its so much fun and I never need to drop a gear to grab some speed.

a well geared fj is like a v8 automatic,  just twist and go,, plenty of info for whatever mods you choose, but feel free to try something nobody has done, and post up pics  :good2:   , maintenance is easy enough to do yourself

Welcome new guy, if you have been lurking for a while then you already know what kind of nut house this is. If not, then you will find out soon enough. Look up Randy at RPM, www.rpmracingca.com, he is near by and he can get you nearly everything yo need for your FJ, except the cure for Moditus. Once you catch it you can't get rid of it, wouldn't want to anyway. We have a rally coming up in late May in Petaluma, join in or at least stop by and meet some FJ owners.
