Mark, did you ever have a 180 Dunlop Q2 on your bike, or just the 170?
The reason I ask, is that I have a Dunlop D208, 180, and it rubs the chain.
I guess Dunlop is one of those brands that oversizes their tires.

But the 170 fit fine??
I'm looking at getting some new rubber before I head out to this years WCR and I don't want to have happen like what happened in Colorado last year. (Down to the cords).

I ran the 180 first and the chain machined off a good 3/16 of an inch off the side. Bits O' tire messing up the nice White wheels. Not sure how bad it was for the chain, they are not designed to be side loaded. It seems ok, not too beat up when I cleaned it recently. But the 170 had no issues with touching the chain.

I just finished up my rear with a 180/55/17  Michelin Pilot Road 3. The rim (1993 GSXR 750) is dead center and aligned with the front tire. The chain is now as straight as I can tell using a Motion Pro alignment indicator (looks dead straight) and I have about 1/4" tire to chain clearance.
The rear 38T GSXR 750 sprocket is flipped and the front sprocket is a VF 1000 18T with 2mm more off set to the outside.  I am "aloven" it )) Can't wait to get the front on....
A while back Sport Bike did a small tire compairsion/test and I noticed that not all 180 tires were 180mm wide by there measurements... They were close but not he same. Different metrics's I guess...
Do the Conti Attacks get more chicks than USD forks ? Just asking...

The Conti might have a tad more room on the chain but they both have safe room to wiggle.

They look good... New tires always look better. I have no miles on them yet, work and Honey-Do's ate up my ride time. However Steve, Mike and I are planning a ride this Sunday. I know your weekends are busy with work but if you want play hookie, we can have 4 FJs. You would be odd man out as the three of us will be on 86's.
