We choose to launch. Whether we treat every stoplight as a drag strip or not, we choose to launch. If we diddnt we would have settled on a smaller displacement, less balls having machine.
I have had the great pleasure of riding progressively larger, more powerful machines and from my first 89 xt350 I fell in love, I flew. The sensation of freedom available to the motorcyclist is unique. The grunt of three hundred plus cc's of displacement in a single cylinder opened my eyes. Having over 100hp at my disposal now is an exercise in applied humility.

Now, I can launch.

yes i quite enjoy the launch !

its a nice advantage the FJ has over newer shorter wheelbase motorcycles.... the FJ moves forward while they are popping wheelies!

Kookaloo! (right up to the speed limit honest! )

The Corbin Solo Gunfighter seat is a really important upgrade on my FJ.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

'86 Ambulance - Bent frame, cracked case, due for an overhaul
'89 Stormy Blue - Suits my Dark Side

Take it to the track where it's measureable, and you'll find that you probably cannot launch.  :D
