Help - just took my MEGA CYCLE camshafts off and low and behold - PITTING. there are only two lobes with pitting so its not due to oil or heat, the shims are smooth and the adjustment was good. My problems is I bought these from a person on ebay (these were new) and not through a dealer which means I can't go through a dealer to check what can be done i.e. regrind / rebuild etc.
Webcam does not have an email address so that that I can get them to see the cam pictures and ask advice. Phoning without showing pictures is not always productive.
These camshafts have been fitted only 15,500 kms ago and only used for touring.
Hope the picture comes out if not let me know how to add one please

Please help

Is that the leading edge of the lobe, or the trailing edge?

If it's the trailing edge, you may be getting slight valve float.  Might also be time for some new/better valve springs.

Wow should not look like that,is that a crater. It looks like it was defective imo.Still a nice grind on the rest of the lobe.

The cam pitting is on the trailing edge on both lobes, the rest of the lobes are absolutely perfect.

Send the cams over to me, I am a mega-cycle cam dealer.

Their warranty is pretty clear, but maybe they can fix them at a reduced rate.

Thankyou for being understanding, I'll make it clear I wasn't bagging Megacycle I just wanted to know why this happened as I could not come up with a reason for the pitting.
I have had an offer from another member from Australia to contact Mega cycle, so I don't want to screw people around especially people like yourself.
Regardless could I have your address details just in case please
