Been pretty busy working on the old girl.  Figured out why the seat was so "fat".  Recovered with a piece of 1/2" foam, took that off  She'll have her proper lines back now.  I was going to take her down a little more but the foam has been repaired.  FYI, don't use superglue on foam!  Chemical reaction of some sort, could hear it sizzling then it got hot and formed a hard chunk.  Maybe everyone already knows this, anyway no damage done.  Ordered a nice piece of vinyl and will post pics if it comes out nice, Ha ha..Gotta buy a Frackn chain apparently, three links are frozen.  Soaked the hell out of it, pried on em, no dice.  I'll pull it this Sat, "only way I'll stay off it, no plates yet".  Took her all the way down the road last week. Wow!, boy does she gooooo...Did some other back yard fabin, LED's on the back.  Nice and bright!.  Couple weeks now..  So close.

A new chain is not the only thing you need to buy, looking at the front sprocket!

I agree, the front sprocket looks a bit worn. Ok for low torque/speed riding but stay away from the Kookaloo zone till you get a fresh sprocket.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Ya guys don't worry, gonna order one of those take-offs RPM has to go with the new chain.  Probably grab a rear too, just money right...  :unknown:

Yep, just money till you throw a chain... Then if injury is avoided, its just money...

Recovered my seat tonight.  Came out pretty good, definitely a huge improvement over the big ole' chunky look.

Very nice job. If I could do as good a job I would Die Happy too.   Dave

Thanks Dave.  Took a bit of elbow grease for sure!  When I started I wasn't wicked convinced that it was even possible, Ha ha..

Gettin all kinds of stuff done..  New sprockets fitted (not torqued yet).  Still waitin on my chain :dash2: First purchase for a JC went on back-order so ordered a RK Racing Chain GB530GXW, claims 10000+ tensile.  Managed to break free all but one of my rear disc bolts.  Always seems to be one bad apple..  I'll be picking up a proper bit, hopefully that will do the trick. Also trying to figure out why my seat-tail has such a huge gap.  Everything is in order, latches etc. all appear to be correct.  So anybody else have this issue?  Maybe I'm missing something... :scratch_one-s_head:

Yeah the park is great to ride around. However you need to go wicked early so u don't have to deal with the out of staters.

Finally brought the big bitch home!  First real ride yesterday and boy does she go.  Rides real nice, no second gear issues.  Still plenty of work to do, I've got throttle cables, and a slave rebuild kit on the way.  Had to bleed the slave yesterday, seemed like she was weeping out the seal ever so slightly.  Hopefully it's rebuild-able..  Also I ordered some replacement fj1200 decals for the side covers, I'll let you guys know if they're any good.  Still need to sync the carbs and check the valves...  Guess I need to get an inspection sticker too, keep the leo's away. :ireful: Couldn't have gotten this goin so fast without this site and all it's combined wisdom, thanks to all you fellas and especially Randy at RPM For kickin ass out west sourcing all these parts!!!  More updates to come..
