FAZER 8 Master Cylinder with R1 Calipers

My 1985 FJ1100 is going to have a new 89+ FJ1200 forks (with RPM's valves), FZR 88 rim, Arashi disks, new SS lines, and R1 Blue Dot calipers. What about the master cylinder? Would it be worth updating the master cylinder? I went to a Yamaha shop and looked at the various levers, and the FAZER8 has a metal oil reservoir that is similar to the FJ's. I personally don't like the looks of the plastic cup on the R1 style.

1)   Would updating the master cylinder make sense?
2)   Would the FAZER 8 cylinder work for my bike with the modifications listed?

Thanks,

Eyal

I did the same upgrade you are doing, I stayed with the same size MC, the lever feels stiffer and I like it. The HH pads grab so well I will never need more than 2 fingers to lock up at any speed. Others have switched over to 14mm masters and the lever pull is easier, stopping power is still awesome. Just different lever feel.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Lots of Yamahas used the "Blue" spot callipers, sometimes the spots are "Gold"

Klavdy - can you bring a couple of those in your luggage next time over?!  That looks like a crazy fun stablemate for the FJs...
