Blowing Fuse /indicator,nuetral & brake light

Hey All,
don't know if anyone else has had this happen, but I've just started blowing fuses , as soon as i turn on Ignition the fuse blows , So not sure if problem is in ignition switch or the lights which the Fuse is controlling ?

Check the wires that go down to the horn. Peel back the tape and look closely. The constant movement of the lower triple clamp back and forth often causes the insulation on the horn wires to get scuffed where they come in contact with the steering neck.
These wires are hot all the time with the handlebar horn button located down stream of the horn.

I just had the exact same thing happen this morning to me going out the driveway, the #3 fuse blew which is the signal one. Replaced that, rode to work (45minutes) was just parking up when the exact same thing happened again. I'll replace the fuse again before I leave for home & then start looking for the problem. would be interested to see how you got on Brian.

Have fixed my fuse blowing problem. After checking my wiring diagram, I isolated the potential fuse blowing problem to those items that ran off that particular fuse (horn, indicators etc).  I put in a new fuse & turned the handle bars to full right hand lock & watched the fuse blow, so it was pretty clear what was happening.So i started with the horn, as Pat had suggested, & found the wiring had been damaged as per his description. Cut the offending wire & used an electrical joiner to join the wires, wrapped it in insulation tape, & hooked everything back up. Everything seems to run perfect now.

It certainly made it easier having a manual with a wiring diagram, & certainly made easier by being able to make the fuse blow rather than something that was inter-mittant. Thanks for the tips.

Yea, those pesky horn wires are often to blame. Good job Ants. Brian, please report back on what you find.
