Racetech fork springs..

A questions I have is, I notice that the Racetech springs  are 31.7mm OD were as the stock are  34mm OD, the top of the stock damper rod is cupped (eg...the spot where you insert the damper rod tool to keep it from turning) this area has thin walls and my concern is that the smaller OD springs do not sit fully along the outer walls of the damper rod top and will slip/twist into it?
Placing a washer on top of the damper rod to stabilize the spring bottom doesn't seem correct, as this would cause wear along the inside  walls?

Thank you,

Most of the time, when the RT springs are installed a fork valve is combined with them. The valves seat against the damper rod and add to the spring surface area.

If you are using the spring on the stock damper rod, then the included washer is your option. Yes the washer will be touching the wall of the tube and could cause wear.

The RPM fork valve uses a seal just like the damper rod to keep the valve centered and sealed. The RT valve centers on the damper rod to prevent it from rubbing the ID of the fork tube.

Thanks Randy, the problem with using the supplied RT washers is they are also on the smaller diameter. I have turned some better fitting Stainless steel washers but I think they would be too hard and cause premature tube wear. One thing I noticed is OE sure are not exactly round on fork ID.
I would evenutally buy your fork valves, but these are the higher rate springs, so I will make due with them for now.
So maybe I will turn some better fitting brass or Delrin washers?

Thanks again,
Tony
