Oil in carbs?

So does it never end? I had an extensive conversation with Randy about my 92 running rough at 1500 rpm. Thought I had it licked, now I have gas leaking from carb one or two not quite sure which one and upon further ivestigation looks like oil as well seeping out. Any ideas what would cause oil to end up in the carbs? Will check plugs tomorrow.

Ps looks like its leaking from one of the breather tubes between carb 1 and 2. But not the tube itself. Could  there be a worn o ring somewhere in that visinity?

You have your stock air box. There is a tube which runs from the right side top of the crankcase and connects to the bottom of your air box. As part of the emissions system, this allows the engine blow by gasses to be ingested back into the engine.
Look inside your airbox and you will see a shelf which collects excess oil from the blow by vapor and to prevent a lot of oil from accumulating there should be a small drain hose on the bottom side of your airbox where excess oil can drip.
Check this drain hose and the connecting passage into the airbox for clogs.
It sounds like you are puddling oil in your airbox (which is not draining) and thus getting ingested into your carbs.
 All FJ engines have a certain amount of blow by. Higher mileage engines have more than newer engines. Worn rings are the culprit.

On your carbs you should have 4 small hoses which are the choke vents, and 2 larger hoses which are the fuel bowl vents.

Is the gas coming from the small hoses or the larger hoses? Small hose means that you have a bad o ring on your float needle seat or dirt holding the float needle from fully seating. Larger hose means that you have a stuck or bad float.

All hail Pat! You are the King! On further investigation the airbox hose you are referring to was not routed properly. It was routed so the end of it was turned upwards which I guess wasn't allowing the oil to find its way out. As far as the vent hose goes its from one of the 2 large tubes I guess float bowl issue. Will check it. Thank you Pat
