84 1100 tack is twitchy

My 84 has been on the road for two years after a restoration.  It runs beautifully in my unpracticed eye;  plugs are pristine after the season, no temprament issues hot or cold weather,(Canada).  I love it.
Always sensitive to its well-being, I have just in the last month noticed the tach is twitching. A new condition. It progresses properly through an acceleration and reads properly, but once in a while the needle twitches up a few hundred rpm for half a second, then settles to its normal rate. It does this for a while, then doesn't do it forever during a ride.
Thoughts?

The tach receives a signal from the coil. Sand clean the wire connection at the coil along with the coil grounds and see it that helps.

I have 5 of these gems for members that have donated in the last 6 months. You can make a donation now and qualify if you have not donated in the last 6 months. No profit for me, you get the tool for the cost of shipping. This club has done so much to improve my FJ enjoyment and Kookaloo that giving back is simply the right thing to do.
