:hi: Since acquiring my 'Silky White' stock '85 FJ several weeks ago and installing (in no order): Krauser side hard bags, new fork seals/10w oil, engine oil/filter change, replacing a snapped off signal indicator, buying/installing a Corbin seat from firstinlastout (thank you Jeff), riding in the first Ontario FJ Owners inaugural ride (SUPERB!!) and generally putting a few extra miles on here and there, TODAY was the wife first run out...THEE acid test, as it were :scratch_one-s_head:

We  ran out to Breezy Corners Restaurant on Hwy #6 (Brock Road), just south of Hwy #401...its one of our favourite 'watering holes'. However, as normal, we went via a few really nice scenic back roads from home, which gives both the FJ & 'pilot' a decent work out :bye2: A good mix of straights to get her really warmed up and some decent 'S' bends, twists & turns to keep us all wide awake :shok: :rofl2: ... :good:

A good feeding of heart pounding fried eggs (3!!)/bacon/ham/sausage/home fries/toast and several cups of coffee and we were both ready for the road once more :good2:

The road home took us, for some part, along Hwy #401 at an average 130 KPH  (81.25MPH)...time to stretch her legs a wee bit  and then exit on to Guelph Road North, turn off on to side road 15 for some more fun, up Trafalgar Road, 124 and home.

After seven years of owning/maintaining/riding and really having a s***e load of fun with my '82 Yamaha Vision/XZ550, I have to say, (apart from a few things ), the FJ certainly hauled Cathy and I around without any problems...this FJ has so much 'grunt' in her it was like riding solo!!! All in all, we put on 200K's (125 miles) today and I just seem to have 'that smile' on my face all the time :greeting:

When we got home, I said to Cathy, "well...are we happy"??

Helmet off and with a smile on her face she said "YEP, we are good to go"...KOokaloo :yahoo:,  Cape Breton here we come  :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:... :drinks:

:good2: ....... TIGER ....... :good2:
ps...anyone wanna buy an '82 Vision/XZ550   :rofl2:... :mocking:
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!

Generally speaking, its not that I need her say so when it comes to buying bikes...however, we both enjoy riding and I like to know that she is comfortable sitting there behind me...It makes life way better in the long run :good:

Nope, that's never gonna happen...she has no interested in being the 'pilot', bikes or sled wise. She is more than happy being a passenger...and a good one at that!!! :good:

I was not saying you had to have the wife's permission only it is better when you share the same interest.  :good:

:hi: Bugger!!!...Sorry Kurt, it was meant more as a generalization and certainly not an accusation or anything remotely that way inclined... :flag_of_truce:...and I agree, it is better to share an interest or two :good2:

   Famous last words.....My wife was scared of me driving MOTORCYCLES :shok:.  Then she hopped on the back for a ride one time........then.. another.....and another.....
Then she said she would only want to ride on the back in the future... "that's IT"!  she said.....

Her bike is the one behind mine in the avatar.  The FJ was just a little too heavey for her . So the next best thing was the XJ.  :drinks: a midnight maxim 750. :good2: it sits low and is easier to drive.
