I live just north of Atlanta, GA, so I've been looking forward to taking our FJ1100 for a cruise up through the mountains. Last week my work took me up near Cleveland, GA, so we rode the bikes up there.  I was on the FJ1100 and my friend rode his shadow. On Wednesday and Thursday the weather was an 80% chance of rain and we didn't get a drop, so when Friday's weather said only a 30% chance of rain we thought we had it made! Wrong, we got rained on almost all the way up there! When we got done with the work we had to do and got ready to head back it wasn't raining and we only ran into a few spots that hadn't dried completely. I have a program called Instamapper that we used to track out progress on the way up, but the battery was low when we headed back so I didn't track the return trip. Our trip started at the Mc Donald's in Dawsonville, GA at about 10am and we got up to the shop at about 12:30. We went through Dawsonville on Hwy 53 then we got on Hwy 9 and followed it through Dahlonega, GA to Hwy 60. We took Hwy 60 to Suches, GA where we stopped for a stretch at the Wolf Pen Gap Country Store. We headed out on Hwy 180 (Wolf Pen Gap Road) and followed it to Hwy 129. Hwy 180 (Wolf Pen Gap Road) is great road with some tight turns and switchback. After we made the right turn on to Hwy 129 we followed 129 into Cleveland, GA. Hwy 129 is windy road that crosses over Blood Mountain. We've stayed at the Blood Mountain cabins and we are thinking about going up there again and bringing the bikes for an extended weekend. From downtown Cleveland we headed out Hwy 115 to the shop we were working at for the day.  On the way back we took almost the same route accept when we got into Dahlonega we crossed over to GA 400 since it was getting late.

That's one heck of a max speed your device picked up! (14,658 MPH) What kind of gearing are you running? Certainly not stock!

That was the first thing my wife noticed since I told her we'd take it easy in the rain! I tried to explain that the software hits max speed when it loses contact, but I don't think she believed me!
