Someone gave me a 1990 FJ 1200 and after cleaning the fuel tank and carberators and replacing the fuel line, fuel filter, battery, airbox and other items, it acutally runs!  I have never owned a motorcycle, but I am grealt enjoying riding in sunny SC.

Welcome, we are on a first name basis here, so let us know what you want us to call you.
SC, does that mean Southern Calif? If so, there are a few of us around your area.
FJ as a first bike? Be very careful, she can be a handful at low speeds. Get to a MSF school for a good primer on the basics. Don't take the FJ, take a smaller bike with you to the class. Education is most important.

Cheers!

+1 on the riding classes and Welcome. Ya got a real piece of art there, be ashame to scratch it unnecessarily. The classes are a great social tool too. Ya don`t make that many mates in hospital - and they moan a lot.  (popcorn)
