Bobcaygeon, Ontario - new to FJ's

I just picked up a nice 1984 FJ1100 this weekend. Two years ago I was lent a FJ1200 for a week so the deceptively smooth power and comfort was already familiar to me. My 33 year old XS750 came up lame this season and I'd already determined to move up at least one generation in comfort, suspension and style. The horsepower just comes with the package.
The Battlax BT45's don't look to have more than a very few thousand km's on them. New battery, the exhaust is free of rust, seat vinyl is really good, paintwork is looking recent and in good light it's got a hint of off-black and a slight metallic effect to it.
It was already plated and on the road this year so it's a matter of meeting my preferences for bigger turn signals, polish up the foggy windscreen and scrounge for miscellaneous fasteners that got lost hear and there. It came with lower fairings but I'm not sure if they are desirable or a hindrance. I can't see any attachment points for them and they have no fasteners.

My friend has several FJ's so I'm good for a lot of hands on education but I'll be back here for symptoms and fixes that are sure to crop up.
That red vinyl FJ1200 was some signmaker's goof up, or so the story goes. It's gone now.

Welcome to the group!

Looks like a real beauty..... IIRC the lowers are held on with some L hangers utilyzing various existing bolts.

I dont personally have them but i have seen them installed on a FJ before and took some note of how they were mounted.

KOokaloo!
