With a spring rate in the neighborhood of 1000 lb/in, it's going to be hard to turn even with a bearing

You do have her up on the center stand, don't you?

I sure do, on the center stand, perched on a  block of wood, so the wheel is off the ground.

My new Cycle Gear catalog came in the mail, there are three spanner wrenches listed in the back. The one for $7.49 is the one that I am pretty sure will work.

We use something very similar on the coil over shocks we have on the race car as well.

Mark,
Penske includes a Torrington Bearing on shocks with heavy spring rates, so there should be one on there already. If you look between the spring perch and the spring you should see a flat washer on each side of the bearing. If you would still like the shock sock, (which is a good idea) I can send it via flat rate USPS for $5.99.

Thanks,
Dan

The web site shows the sock for $17. Is the $5.99 just shipping or is he giving you better price for buying the shock?
Thanks,
Mike

I am also having shock socks made as well. I am waiting for the prototype rear shocks to fall into my hands before I place the full order to confirm they are going to fit properly.

I am thinking about having them made in two colors; Black & Red.
