This January I finally had enough dough and a friend with a garage allow me to buy a bike style I admired since '86!!!
I bought an XJ750RL in 1985, a clear out of a year old model....still have it....restoring it...
The bike shop I hung out in got the FJ in to sell....when my but hit that seat....damn I regretted buying the XJ.
Took me awhile but I stumbled upon a US bike here in Nova Scotia for sale on Kijiji at the right price.

Long story shortish.....dreams come true, or circle of life, one of those sayings anyway :-). :drinks:

Congratulations!
I was at the local Yamaha dealer in 1986 with a choice between a FJ1100 and a left over 1983 XVZ1200 for the same price. I wanted that FJ really bad, but I wasn't ready for it. I bought the XVZ, put 65,000 miles on it and still have it. One day in 2001 I saw a guy on a Midnight Blue 1989 FJ1200 and followed him home. I told him "when you want to sell that FJ give me a call". Two years later he did and I still have it. Glad I waited.
Welcome aboard, it's an information rich site... The people are okay too...  mostly.
