I've got 2 sets of carbs, one for the 1100 and one for the 3CV, is it possible to swap the slides from the 1100 to the 1200 3CV without causing problems.
The needle jets on the 3CV stick up into the carb body more than they do on the 1100. The slides of the 1100 miss the needle jets by about 3mm.
The reason i ask is because the diaphragms of the 3CV have got slight holes and the 1100's are hole free, and don't want to spend money on new diaphragms or some Plastidip.
If it's fine to do the slide swap, what else should i swap, apart from the obvious things like the jetting?
In the pictures the top set of carbs are the 3CV.

The short answer is yes you can change them but...

You need to convert over the short emulsion tubes as well as the fuel curve of the 1100 needle is different based on the short tube.

I have tried to use the flat slides several times on a 1200 without success. The engine(s) always have a bog hesitation with the flat bottom slides. I presume that since the 1200 is a bigger vacuum pump it require the curved area to allow enough air flow when the throttle is opened not to hesitate.

My theory of the flats slides are working basically as a restrictor on the larger displacement bikes by the reduced volume available in the carb bore.

With that said, when Pat's 1350 was completed I could not even get that engine to pick-up the throttle and accelerate with the flat slide carbs that had been completely rebuilt by me on it. I installed a 1200 curved 1200 carbs I had on the shelf and it ran almost perfectly.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Also, i'm going to go with individual pod filters, so what changes to the 3CV jetting will i need to make?
I've looked at your website, Randy, and your prices seem very good.
