I do not believe so. I believe the mufflers themselves are the same but the mount at the rear is different as well as the angle of the 4 into 2 collector box outlets.

so I would not be able to use the down pipes & collector box and just replace the mufflers with the proper 3CV mufflers? I purchased the bike with another exhaust installed and the "stock" system came with, but not installed. the previous owner received it uninstalled from who ever he bought the bike from. If I am unable to use it Ill just find it a good home somewhere other than my garage.

You might be able to make a small mounting tab but if I remember correctly the angles change the mounting positions.

The 4 head pipes are interchangeable between All years.
The collector box is interchangeable between All years.
The Mufflers are NOT.

THE 1988-1990 3CV has the muffler mount AFT of the passenger footpeg.

The 1984/1985 FJ1100, the 1986/1987 and 1991-1996 FJ1200's all have the muffler mount forward of the passenger footpeg. This is about a 2 inch difference.
