Hi I'm Jeff.
I recently picked up an 84 FJ with 43,000 K.

Actually got to put on about 30 km before the big freeze. (Well, that is an exaggeration this year!).
Really good shape and one of the best things about owning it is this great forum.  I enjoy working on them just about as much as riding them.  Good news is that this one runs like new.

My sons also have bikes.  The youngest one came home with an 83 XS 400 DOHC with only 7,000Km.  We had to buy a parts bike to get a good seat; and then ended up buy another parts bike and we now have spare parts and two runners.

Once we got it running, it only took one ride around the ranch and figured it was time to get me one!
After much shopping I was able the find the FJ for $1,500.  The FJ is everything a bike should be.  After sending one of the very flattering early reviews about the FJ to a buddy with a Harley, he now realizes it cheaper and more interesting to buy and old FJ than to spend thousand's on Stage 1 this and Stage 2 that and still end up with a pig. Is that supposed to be hog?

Welcome mate, the more people we can get off Harldly Rideables the better. Seeing the guys on them at the end of this summer in Nova Scotia i wanted my FJ just to show them what a real bike goes like.

Hi Jeff,

We have just moved to Shawnessey - Calgary from Toronto (originally from the UK).
I brought my 93 FJ1200 with me but it has carb problems.

In the short term I need to find a carb guy to help me with a bad carb overflow/leak problem - know anybody?

In the longer term we are looking to meet guys to ride with and show us the area - once I get my bike fixed maybe we could meet up?

Take care mate.
