Best Bags for Fj's

I was wondering what are the best bag choices for the fj's , with stock or aftermarket exhausts.

I really like my Givi bags, but from what I understand the FJ mounting rack is hard to get.

Hepco Becker makes some nice bags for the FJ. They aint cheap but ya get what ya pay for.

I've had real good performance with the Tourmaster Cortech Saddlebags and Tailpack.  They fit the FJ well, hold lots of stuff and the mounting straps keep it secured.  They are easy to remove at the end of the day.

The UK FJ/FJR owner's club sells their own version of the discontinued Givi Y204 fit kit for our FJs, but you must become a member in order to purchase items from them.  This is the the site; http://www.fjclub.co.uk/page6.php  Once you get that fit kit you can use the wingracks that givi sells.  I lucked out and got my wingrack and fitkit from a member here a few weeks ago, but I was getting ready to join their club in order to get this and a few other items they have.  They have a very comprehensive catalog of items just for the fjs (the full stainless Remus 4-2-1 exhaust they sell is sick, albeit a bit rich for me at nearly $1000 after currency exchange) and I think the givi stuff is nice enough to make it worth the hassle of buying from across the pond.  Just my 2 drachma.

Be sure you discuss the shipping cost with Doc. I didn't when I ordered a Givi rack and was a bit surprised.

I found a set of used Krauser Star bags and made the brackets to mount them up to the bike. Cost me 100$ and a little fab work, but end result was worth it. Same bags came stock on 70's?? BMW. Get the steel mounting hoops if you can, but the plastic ones work fine also.

I am very happy with my GIVI Arrowbags.  They are soft saddle bags and I have the matching tank bag.  I posted a picture on the gallery. (Keyword "givi") In this picture, the bags are pretty well full---expanded.

  The bags are held in place with one strap that goes under the seat and two that go over the seat, and 4 plastic zip ties. I fabricated a 'U' shaped piece of aluminum bar stock that I mounted to the rear fender at the license plate to keep soft bags from sagging. It works.  I can give you more information if you decide to go with these bags.
