i got my fj1100 5 years ago rode it for about 2 months parked it for 4 years (not buy choice, lifes a beach) now after hours of bloody knuckes and $$$ in parts shes runin like a champ but clutch pressure is not happening. i know my way around a toolbox im pretty good with fixing most anything on all the bikes/atvs/cars iv owned in my 23 years but i did all the bleeding an this an that an decided i needed to rebuild slave but now piston is siezed? and aparently slave cylinders are no longer manufactured sooo...?? ebays my only option or somone else has been in boat and knows how to stay afloat?

fj11.5

rpm sells  a rebuild kit cheaper than yamaha  , have you tried pumping the  piston out with compressed air, should b ableto save it, ive seen complete new units on ebay for at least $100 us  (popcorn)
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

84 Fj1100  effie , with mods
( 88 ) Fj 1200  fairly standard , + blue spots
84 Fj1100 absolutely stock standard, now more stock , fitted with Fj12 twin system , no rusted headers for this felicity jayne

I doubt if it fits tight enough to seize up but it might be cocked a bit and/or the seal stuck... it happened to an old one I salvaged last summer.

I placed it piston side down on the pavement, and held it with my foot.

A LIGHT shot of air popped it right out.

They have been on back order, hopefully they will be on the shipment expected in February.

thanks guys i got it out took it to work and got agressive. it was very stuck. seals look good so now i dont know why i wasnt geting any pressure when bleeding. if it was stuck but with good seals it would still build pressure right?

Explain what you are doing in the bleeding process....... are you pumping fluid out of the bleeder with the lever?
Sometimes the lever will not pump fluid due to air in the piston chamber not escaping....... have you tried reverse bleeding - that is, pushing fluid up from the bleeder on the clutch slave with the use of a large syringe?

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

When I did mine last summer, I tried filling the slave first before I bolted it to the engine, and filled the m/c and let it run down thru the line before I bolted it to the slave.  I had good pressure at the lever almost immediately.

Of course, I was using DOT 5, so I had no fear of ruining any paint or plastic in doing so.  YMMV.
