Mirror extensions - 50mm

Hi all,

Like many of you (I'm sure) I found that to look in mirrors and see behind me efficiently envolved a shoulder/body twist to get them out of the way so I could see what was close behind...

I decided to do something about it and came up with these..


I'm 6"2' tall, and 120kg so I'm a big chap and they work great.

They fit the OEM mirrors from a 92 - not shown in the pics because I cracked the mirrors trying to remove the damping weights which had come loose and were flapping around inside and replaced them with aftermarket ones.


Now I'm in NZ and that's a long way to send parts as the majority of you guys are US based.
BUT, I'm happy to post up here the files required to make these if you have access to a machine shop. I made these on a CNC Milling machine, you could do on a manual mil, just take longer and all you'd need is a drawing. Anybody with a CNC machine can run these.

If anyone wants the either the CAD files (3D model of the part, made in MasterCam X5) which can be opened and converted by any modern, commercial CAD package, or the direct NC file to run in the machine, let me know. I guess I can put them up in the files section if there's a demand for it.

The deal is if you get it from me, it's free. You CANNOT make these and sell them without my permission.

If anybody decides they really want to do a production run then we can talk but my main aim here is to help anybody out who wants some of these by providing the files free.

Failing that if people don't mind a wait, and will pay for shipping I may do a small batch myself.

Ok here we go.. this is the CAD model. So i can produce drawings off this no worries.
