Happy to have met you guys.  We need a ride involving a BBQ at my house in SJ!

That alone would be worth a ride up from Palm Desert..... Just to see Frank's primo 240Z.... I missed my chance the last time. :dash1:

I'm glad you guys had fun....Mark sure knows his way around the BBQ.  Cheers!

The Renegade Rally was a success. :good2:
Attendance is as follows;

George Bowers (the reclusive FJ expert)
Craig Zari (Aka Marlboro man)
Frank of San Jose( current owner of the Klavenstien FJ)
Jason X (currently riding a blackbird)
Kerry and Pam (modesto new riders)
Mark Olson (Grill master 5000)

we started with 7 and ended with 3.
After the first 50 miles Kerry and Pam dropped out and headed home due to exhaust pipe draggin issues on right turns and a vibration problem that seemed to be ign related.
Kerry did not do so bad for a new rider with 3 months of experience and I rode sweep and was able to shift up into 3rd twice.

On the next leg of the run with George in the lead we headed onto ice house road with a sweet 1st turn that left Jason unsettled for 4 miles(25 mile left hander that reduces) we ripped it up and turned on the next stretch Wentworth springs for some smooth sweepers and turns that were like carpet. A single pine cone the size of a coffee can waited in the center of the road for Frank but he avoided it thereby breaking Klavdy's curse.
The next stop was stumpy meadows lake for a drink and photo op. A wayward Harley rider came forth and drooled over the fj's and even asked George if his fj was new.

He was more than happy to take our picture.

Next we rode to Georgetown and then down Marshall grade to the 49 and to the last rip of the day Salmon falls rd. The end of salmon falls road we said goodbye to Frank as he had a long ride back to San Jose.
As we headed to my place for the BBQ we lost Craig as he peeled off to his place to get changed and pick up his GF, or get his meds , or change his tampon,or pack for his flight at 7 am the next day,or  :scratch_one-s_head: :mocking: needless to say he did not attend the BBQ.

So it was just the three of us for a feast my wife Pamela had prepped .

thanks to all for attending and hope to see more for next year.

Ahhh Gentlemen, good times out on the beautiful backroads of Nor Cal.  Company is always a treat too.  And yes, could not have asked for better weather too.  Sorry I had to miss out on the feast afterwards Mark, but yes, the tampon was saturated.  Niiicee.  No, really, I had so much unfinished crap to do... and an early morning 7:00 am flight to Kansas City.  You know the frigging drill.  Drive 40 miles to Airport, park car... get shuttle.  Then, the arduous 5 hour journey through TSA..   Errr.

Sorry we missed you this time Andy my boy....still need to plan the Napa run.  Great to meet a new face Frank, and definitely look forward to rides around my home town of the Bay Area.....let's make it happen!!!!

Thanks again for arranging everything Marko...  great picture post.
