valve guide clearance?

Hello all, while cleaning and rebuilding the heads off my 85FJ , I noticed that the exhaust valves (without oil seal on) have a little side to side play in them ,whereas the intake valves seem snug and smooth in their valve guides.Has anyone noticed this before? How much is tolerable? I dont know the amount of play in them, it is small, but there.
