NON YAMAHA - Kawasaki 250 vs the 600 (zx's)

I was taking a tour of this board and saw a couple threads where Dan had praised the Ninja 250..

Now my dream bike has always been the Kawa ZX6r, but after hearing what Dan has said about it I am considering it rather than the zx600. (once I get the FJ to where I want it to be )

Anyway I just wanted to know the pros and cons for the 2 bikes. Here in SA the zx6s arent that much more expensive than the 250. a second hand say 95 model zx6 could very easily sell for cheaper than a brand new 250 while a brand new zx6 would go for about 1000$ more than a brand new 250. (i have looked at the second hand 250s but most get wrecked by the 16yos who ride them)

Obviously the 250 would be more fuel efficient(which is a good thing for me) and much easier to work on, although the 600 would have so much more kookaloo!

Any info, pros and cons on the 2 will be greatly appreciated. As I said the FJ is my main concern right now so it will be great for future knowledge
PS thinking my girlfriend can get either and then I'll just "test drive" them for her
