Mystery air filter box hose

Hi All!

I have a 1993 FJ 1200. There is a hose coming off of my air filter box. It's a long thin hose. (It's NOT the fat crankcase breather hose!) Where does this long thin hose go? Does it attach to a carb? If so, which one and where?

Thanks!

Hey David, you might have a Calif Edition FJ with extra vapor recovery hoses.
Look at the  Yamaha microfishe under the Calif edition, and see if you can see what you have:

Hope this helps...

Hi Pat! Thanks for the great resource!

I think it might be the part marked #12 in this picture

I hope the picture gets attached!

The schematic doesn't show where that hose goes.

Okay, it didn't get attached. It's listed as part # 90445-112E1-00. It's just called "Hose L."

In My Clymer manual, Page 203, Step 9, it says, "On models so equipped, disconnect the boost control hose from the No. 2 Carburetor." Could this be the hose that goes to my airbox? There's no picture so I don't know where it attaches on the carb or where it goes.

I don't know David.

I checked my Haynes to see if it was of any help. Page 1-23 has a top and side view illustration of a 1989, but I see no hose going to the air box.

Sorry, but I think you are going to need the Yamaha factory service manual for this answer.   Pat

The boost sensor hose goes from a carb joint (#2, IIRC?) to the front of ther bike, it is a vacuum line.

From memory, I think there is a drain hose on my 84 airbox. I seem to recall seeing one, I assumed it was in case the carburetors flooded the fuel wouldn't accumulate in the airbox and create a fire hazard.

Can someone tell me how to put a picture in this text window?

If you're linking from an online picture (i.e,. google images....) rightclick and find the direct link (starts with http:// and ends with .jpg/.jpeg/.bmp or something), then use the IMG tag in front of it, and the /IMG tag behind it (both inside [braces]).
