Not the fuel gauge or the rev guage but the speedo...

I just want to know if what I have is a problem or if it happens to a lot of the old bikes?

My FJ's speedo sometimes 'sticks' at 120 km/ph (i dont really ride like a maniac out of hell but when I get the chance like on the old Race track -which used to be part of the world grand pric way bac when-that has a nice clean straight i take my chances)

As I said the speedo sticks at 120 and wont go any further, the bike is defintely going faster than 120 (i have come to believe its top speed is 250 about?) so is this natural on an FJ or what could possibly be wrong? to those who have answered my many questions in the past will know I seem to have alot of problems with the dashboard area....

Oh I might add the bikes speedo seems to work perfectly fine for speeds lower than 120..

Yes, you have a problem, but you may grow out of it eventually. :-)

Your speedo cable may be dry and sticking in the outer.  Remove and grease it.
The speedo drive may also be dry and sticking.  Remove and grease it.
The speedo head may be faulty or the needle or the guage movement may have something keeping it from advancing past 120.  You'll have to remove the speedometer and check to see if this is the problem.

Cheers,
