Yeah, there's good gloves for $75 or less that have a lot of the new features and are in basic black.  Keep looking.
IF you want to be cheap, a pair of heavy "rigger's gloves" will give you 90% of the protection of the fancy ones for less than $10.  And you can find them at Home Depot, Lowes, or even Walmart.

I can't wear the fancy multipart gloves. Because of problems with my hands I have to have an all smooth palm: NO SEAMS!  A pair with seams ended my riding season in August a few years ago. I found and bought several pairs of all black, American Deerskin, gauntlets in several lengths, with and without insulation (unfortunately put together else where) at a local bike shop, Rollin' Bones Motor Co Inc, in Binghamton, NY. Don't know if they will mail, but maybe they'll tell you where else to get them. Yes they are cheap. 607-773-1340.
Yes they favor V twins. How did you guess?

I am not sure where you live but if you have a Cycle Gear store near you they have a pretty good selection and very reasonable pricing.  I bought a set of gauntlet style all weather type for less than 20 bucks -- all black... very good deal.
