carb woes

So I pulled my carbs to give them a thorough cleaning and install David's stainless screw kit, (thanks, David) I also installed uni-pod filters at the same time.  After reassembly, it started right up, but the carbs are dripping gas out of the overflows.  Any ideas?  I would suspect something in the needle valve/seat area, but not all four at once.  Also, how much to oil the filters?  This is a new thing to me, and I may have overdone it with the oiling, because it won't seem to rev past 4000.  Thanks in advance for any insight.

Sounds like your floats are not set correctly.
The foam filters require very little oil.  If you're using spray, then a set of horizontal passes and a set of vertical passes should be sufficient.  Squeeze through to even it all up.
If you're using liquid filter oil, then make sure you squeeze all the oil (excess) you can out of them.

Cheers,

Sticking floats.  Hammer fixes them every time.

Thanks for the tips, guys.  I think I have the filters over-oiled, also.  I will let you know how it goes as soon as I have a chance to work on it again.
