Motor comes out, head off, cylinders off, cases split.  Swap parts, reassemble.  Good chunk of work.

No problem at all once the crankshaft is out, now that can be a job in a half.
If you are hearing a chain noise it's probably the starter chain (even harder to change) no adjustment.
How many mi?

Yeah I was wondering if it might be tha starter chain. Seems to be more noticable on the left hand side of the bike but that may just be me. Its got 70 thou kms (thatd be about 45 thou miles I guess) on it but I dnt kno if thats genuine or of its been round the clock already

Hey any of you guys have a manual tensioner? I have one and am wondering what kind of tension it needs on it.

I have two on the shelf. All my bikes and race car engines run stock tensioners.
I would ass-u-me (I have never used one) slightly snug, NOT TIGHT.
