It's Silver... is that normal?

I see tons of pics of 84 FJ's in the familiar red and white livery, but only one in silver with factory blue stickers which mine wears in a very worn manner. As I contemplate what colors to apply I wonder why mine is so oddly out-of-place in the grand scheme. Cursory research reveals no obvious answers; supposedly the PO is from Texas but the bike could have come from anywhere so it may have been expatriated from Canada or Mexico even....

Any historians, or people good with trivia care to enlighten me? The paint's gotta be redone, unless history and rarity forbids even a hard washing.

What I said last about green and black, nahhhh my Ninja's going to be wearing that now.

I can't speak for every country, But here in the states 84 is red and silver

and 85 red and white

Maybe I should keep it silver, matches the most popular color of duct tape for expedient repairs.

That is a pretty sad looking 1100, I don't know if it is 84, 85, or even silver for that matter...........
but maybe you should think about changing the bike back to what it use to look like.
See pics above for inspiration.........

Looks like he was shooting for the perfection of the silver/white '89, and just missed the mark.

Can't blame him for trying, though.

At least he got rid of the prototype colors...         :bomb:

I think you'd better keep the silver, or else you'd need to change the seat. Looks OK to me, but you could get some red and white duct tape just for attending rallies.
