What is the best method of removing this bushing?  I did some searches, but I've only seen the end result.  There was a thread somewhere, I remember, where someone drilled out the bushing, but I have not been able to find it...

I'm hoping there is an easier way than drilling and I would hope to reuse the bushing.  I know Randy is working on the urethane mounts, but until then I thought I might attack that mount while I have the motor out.  It's looking like its siezed real bad and its going to have to come out sooner or later.

Thanks in advance,

I guess this bushing has to be pressed out. Has anyone done this without disassembling the engine? :dash2:

Yes yes, you can try to push  but it is possible that you dont get it out (with warm of course).
Drill it out, that is only easy way, drill so big that you can and after that put the saw in the hole an saw it, thats it, take about 15 min.

AND if it is like FJ 1100 that the bush is all AL, change it same bush what the right side is.

Thanks jykkeh!

I see that the rubber dampers (on the right side ) are still available, so I will not worry about keeping the aluminum bushing.  I will drill away like you suggested.. :i_am_so_happy: and go with the damper mounts....

Since you have done this, have you noticed a difference in the vibrations?

Cheers
