Hi there!

I've got an '93 FJ 1200 (3XW) with rotten mufflers. Some manufacturers (at least Motad) lists same parts for 1TX and 3XW...is this true? Does a 1TX exhaust fit a 3XW bike? I already know that 3CV exhaust does not fit my 3XW FJ... :negative:

I can't say for certain based on the model numbers, but the 92-on FJ's had a different mounting location for the support tab and earlier model cans won't work without some modification.

I had a Motad system on my '91 3XW. The bracket on the silencer was located further back and fitted onto the rear footrest bolt rather than frame bracket. That is why they list one system for all models. That would imply, however, that a 3CV (ie '88-'90) silencer could be fitted to 3XW - but you found not.

I stand corrected. The exhaust can mounting point changed for the 1991 model year:

This chart is nice in that it gives you the part numbers for the OE silencers, in case you're sourcing a used pair.

Hey Herring-

I am switching over to a Delkevic system and have a complete stock exhaust system available.  I was going to sit on it but I don't think that makes sense and selling some parts will help the cost of my project.

I am willing to part with the entire system or just the mufflers if you want to stay stock.  The mufflers are in excellent condition. They are coming off a 13k mile bike.

Tim, the OP (Mika) is from Finland. I suspect the shipping and customs could be excessive....
