Awwwww Harvy , I was trying to blame it on the anti-dive on the fj for the crash.

It couldn't have been operator error  :wacko3:

OHhhhh.... there I go spoiling someones excuse again! lol

With regard to the anti-dive units......... they stand you up in corners under brakes no more than do non anti-dive equipped bikes.

Funny Harvy, tell that to my broken bones after I high sided my 86 with anti-dive.

After a few mods that problem is gone.

It has been pretty well established that the 16" wheel is what causes the early FJs, and many other 16" front-wheeled bikes, to stand up in corners under braking...... the change to a 17" wheel cures the problem.
High-sides, on the other hand, are usually caused by locking-up and sliding the rear, then suddenly releasing the rear brake. Unless you used WAY too much throttle coming outof the turn, ie: 500cc MotoGP bikes....

Sorry to hear that Mark....BUT..... my statement still stands. If the anti-dive is working correctly, "stand-up" experienced under front brake application will still occur - its all in the physics of the thing.

I managed to high-side my '91 too!........ rider error given the road conditions at the time.

With all the mods in the world, if you do the wrong thing in the wrong circumstances, I dare say you could do it again. Touch wood we have both learnt from the experience.

Cheers mate

When did they ever work correctly???  They were a sales gimmick that never delivered the goods.  Dump them and install '88 or newer fork sliders, 17" front wheel, yammie monoblock calipers/master, and decent radial tires.  You'll love the bike and never look back.

FYI in the files are detailed instructions on how to do the mod.
