 Will a FJ1200 3XW 1995 Fuel Tank, fit a FJ1200 1988 bike.


if not what year fuel tanks am i looking for to replace a 1988 fj 1200 tank thanks.

It will fit, but the filler cap and location are different.  Also, IIRC the 88 used a vacuum petcock while the 95 used a 1/4 turn tap that is always on.  This relies on the fuel pump to stop the flow of fuel when the ignition is not ON.

I think the vacuum petcock ended when the fuel pump came, I know 89 didn't get it (vacuum petcock), so I assume 88 didn't either.

I have a 88, one fuel pump, no vacuum petcock.
