Flyover Country Joe

Howdy all,
First post at any forum for me,be gentle! I joined the forum last July, finally getting around to posting. I have a 1990 FJ, have it in rideable condition, but not real pretty. Runs pretty good, I now know  Kookaloo! I got it with about 43,000 miles. The PO seemed to be a bit of a hack, as I peel away one problem layer another one appears.  The clutch was showing the typical slave cylinder issues, but I squeezed the clutch lever, looked down at the cylinder and noticed it was moving! Started pulling the slave cylinder, turns out one of the bolts had been broken off in the case, a previous owner attempted to drill it out and wound up hogging the hole out to about 5/16". Apparently his solution was to silicone a bolt into the hole in the slave cylinder and trade it off. Oh well, I did a slightly less hack repair, filled the hole with Liquid Steel after removing the rest of the broken bolt, then drilled and Heli-coiled a new hole. That is pretty representative of the condition of my FJ, but it still is a rideable work in progress. Anyway, I'm making repairs and mods as soon as practical, riding as weather and family obligations allow.  Am looking forward to DavidR. coming to Arkansas in June. I live about 50 miles northeast of Clarksville, in Clinton. Ar. If any of you guys find yourself headed for the Ozarks, shoot me an email. jberk@frontierenergyllc.com     Thanks, Joe Berk

Hey Joe, welcome to the family!
I've been through Clinton many times.  I'll definitely let you know when we get back up there.  Right now I might be looking at staying in Mountain Home instead of Clarksville, but it's still up in the air at this point.

That's some prime riding you're living in, I'm jealous!

Mountain Home would not be a bad place to stay at all! I don't have to tell you about the roads available to you from there. I really haven't begun to scratch the surface(I think I made a pun) of all the great motorcycle roads around here. However, I'm getting ready to do just that.
                                                                                                               KOokaloo, ya'all!    Joe
