Frank...thanks for the info........I bought a 6 pack of the Pure1's a while back and I think I have 1 left. What is the fit like with the K&N filter?

they fit very nice Harvy, and it has a nut on the end to make removal a breeze.

Spending $12 on an Amsoil filter and running their synthetic 10-40 motorcycle oil for 5,000 OCIs feels like rather inexpensive insurance vs. the few dollars I'd save using a reusable cartridge filter but increasing the wear on my motor.  But I guess I'm kinda odd like that...

Thanks Frank.....do you have the model number?

I just looked up Purolator Pure One........seems they are making them, just not in 10193's....and the colour of the canister is now gold!
But they are not available here in Australia any more.......luckily the K&Ns are readily available.

Cheer again

+1 on the K&N.

I've been using the K&N filter on the Gixxer since I bought the bike a few years back.  Seems like a high quality filter, and the nut on the back really is quite nice.

Yeah, same one.  Although these folks do not seem to like it all that much, hmmmm.

Ok  :flag_of_truce:
Marsh, you know right about now, Ed is chuckling to himself.
Everything we read keeps bringing us back to Amway, uh, or Am....something.

:flag_of_truce: :flag_of_truce: :flag_of_truce:
OK, Maybe I'm chuckling a bit ...

Marsh, I was a bit over enthusiastic calling you out: sorry bud.
Paddy, You seem to have come to the same conclusion I did about Amsoil that I did.  It's the best product available.  That's why I use it, that's why I offer it for sale to anyone that needs/wants it.

As to Marsh's comment about discounting my positions or Amsoil's as propaganda, let me offer the following:
Amsoil makes & sells the best they can offer.  Their stuff isn't the cheapest, but it is the best.  They are constantly testing and improving their products.  They test using industry standard tests, head to head.
My real eye opener was when they ran a White paper test of motorcycle oils in 2004-2005.  They of course, came out on top, but in a few tests Royal Purple & Redline (or Golden Spectro?) came out tied or even better!  Overall, their oil was still on top, but the competitors were improving.
So, in 2009 they re-ran the tests http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g2156.pdf with new & improved Motorcycle oil.  Guess what, they came out on top!  but the oil is a better product (Torco beat Amsoil out in a few categories, watch out!)
Anyway, I started out as a skeptic like the balance of the FJ'ers out there.  Now I'm a believer and a vendor.

Drop me a note & I'll help you out as best I can with your oil needs!

[edit] Ed, I fixed your link....  Pat

Harvy, the PL10193 was not in stock around here for a long time, but the cheaper L10193 was.

They are now plentiful though, and are indeed gold.

You could do what I did, and buy multiples.

It only takes a few minutes to spray paint them black...          :good:
