Hey folks, Setrab oil coler time. I'm getting ready to order the AN fittings.
I know that there are special AN-FJ pan adaptors I'll order from Randy or 600 Racing.
Couple of Q's:
1) Coming out of the pan, what degree angle AN fitting works the best?  Eyeballing it, looks to me like a 60 degree fitting would be about right.
A 45* would cause the SS lines to stick out too far, too close to the header tubes, and the 90* fitting would put the lines too close to the angled engine (not motor) case.
2) Where the AN fitting threads on to the oil cooler, I'm thinking that a stout forged 90* fitting would be best there, instead of the conventional 90* tube type AN fitting.

3) Line and fitting size: I recall reading that Randy recommended 6AN lines/fittings as opposed to the 8AN what everyone seems to use.
Looking up the difference between 6AN and 8AN sizes for braided ss lines; 6AN = 11/32"ID   8AN=7/16"ID

Anyone know what the ID is on our oem cooler lines?   TIA   Paddy

Pat, Why not get everything from me...?

I have everything you need in stock; hose/fitting/adapters. I am designing a cooler for the bike that will put the Setrab out to pasture. I have been using these coolers for over 10 years on the cars and just by changing to these coolers the oil temp drops from 280-295 to 240-245. I change over many cars every year and the new owners are surprised by the results.

You also need to make sure you use the "tube" type fitting for oil lines as the are a smooth bore and do not create any type of restrictions/turbulence like the drilled forged fitting do.

We will work on the cooler when you bring that bike up.

That sure will make it easy. Thanks Randy!

Randy,

Can you give me some details on your oil cooler solution?  Living in Vegas causes the FJ some heat issues and a larger cooler and braided lines would sure help.

Thanks
