Tricks to getting the N&S seat out of the carb body?

I'd like to change the o-rings for the needle seats while I have my carbs apart but I can't get the seats out of the carb bodies.  I've been soaking them with penetrating lube, but they still won't budge.
I really don't feel like damaging them by getting too aggro with the pliers.  It's a simple thing, but most of the carbs I usually work on have threaded seats.  Does anyone have any tips?  Thanks.

if they are truely stuck then the only way to get them out would be to grab them with some pliers and try to rotate them to break the varnish loose.

dont know if you will be able to get them out without destroying them but its worth a shot

There are only two reason they would be that stuck. Corrosion which would be evident in the rest of the carbs as well, or someone installed the wrong o-rings and forced them in. I have machined a bolt to install into the brass seat to prevent distortion while removing them with pliers.

I come across a lot of carbs with incorrect o-rings that were not metric, not petrol resistant and purchased at a hardware store.

If you can't get them out without damaging, let me know.
