Can somebody boil down the front and rear wheel mods into something simple? Right now, its an absolute mish-mash of posts.
The closest fit is this guys website, but I think there are a few things he is missing:http: //www.fjmods.btinternet.co.uk/Wheels.htm

I think the first thing is that if you have a 1984-87, you have to upgrade to the 89+ front end (Rim, rotors, caliper, axle & forks (at least the lowers). Once that is done,

FRONT:
1) Use a 1989+ front rim (Width?)
2) Use a FZR1000 EXUP rim, 1989 - XXXX, Width, etc?
3)  ..............

REAR:
1) Use a YZF600R rim from a 97-99
1) Use an FZR 1000 EXUP rim, from a 87-88 (genesis) 4.5" wide or, 1989+ (Exup) 5.5" wide
2) Use a GSXR Rim from a  90-92 750 or 1100 , 5.5" wide (there are many others see .pdf)

The first step is to locate precisely what parts you need and its a total mind screw trying to keep this all straight. In addition, I think some have either 'loosely' or incorrectly refered to particular models where the parts need to come from. In some cases the info contradicts what another has said, etc.

It might help if someone didn't start a new thread on the topic every day or two.  Just sayin'...            :morning2:

Do this; "89 or newer FJ fork lowers. Rebuild forks, upgrade to straight rate springs and cartridge emulators. Get a wheel. later FJ will work its 3" wide. 87-88 FZR 1000 will work its 3.5" wide,  89-90? exup requires fabbing bushings, its 3.5" inches wide. Get early Blue spot calipers, R1 FZ1 etc. Yamaha put them on a lot of bikes, just be sure the are not the later radial mount. Get rotors, Later FJ rotors will work, but again Yamaha used them on a lot of bikes FZR600 for example. Cross reference the Yamaha part number or use an aftermarket company web site and you will its quite a list. Get new brake hose, I used YZF600r units, but its a tight fit. Probably FZ1 hoses would work better.
For the rear, I can tell you what you need to know for the YZF600r as thats the mod I did. I can help with the others from what I've read but have no practical experience. PM me and we can do this one question at a time.
I know this can be confusing, but sometimes you just gotta pull the trigger. We will be here for you if you get stuck.

Any of the NON-radial mount mono-bloc calipers will work, I have a set of gold-spots.... off a Warrior, I believe.
