Not that I think my Fj is lacking any power, but the winter is long in ontario and we must keep the mind active! I know there are a few displacement mods that may fit the bill, but have any of you guys got into different cams, and degreeing them for maximum cooling and power. Every motor is different, but any ballpark ideas. My 1200 as it sits now is .020 pistons, stock cams and timing chain,v+h ss2r pipe,k+n filter in the stock airbox, and stock gearing.Im thinking if I go big bore motor, alot of the stock pieces will not be able to feed the thing without major mods,or maybe not so! Any thougts on the subject would be appreciated.  Note- we motorists who live in ontario canada have a 50kph over the posted limit deemed as street racing, even if your just cruising by youself on your poor old Fj which feels like its barely moving at 100mph!They can kiss my ass,I want more power.   Jim

I have a fj1200 with a wiseco 10.5 to 1 1200 cc kit, megacycle 268x2 cams, dyna 2000, mikuni flat slides, ape springs, retainers, pods, Accel coils, and -1 tooth on the rear sprocket.
I find my mid range torque is much better.
the cam timing is at stock right now but I'll degree it in the spring
1314cc is the way to go but you'll need more then just the big bore to get the most out of it IMO
If it's not broken, fix it anyways

You need to talk with Frank, (racerman_27410) his 'Brutus' has some un-godly amount of torque.  [167HP/115 lb/ft @ the wheel ] His motor is very worked.

See this thread for some of the details:

I can't think of another daily driver FJ with more power/ torque.
