Had a really nice short, ~100 mile ride with a couple of buddies yesterday morning.  I was on the Gixxer Seven Fiddy, my buddy Eric was on the VFR, and another buddy Steve, who was riding his Ducati S4.  Some of you may remember Eric from the one and only rally he, another buddy Phillip, and I attended a few years back.

It was three bikes, and three engine formats which I thought was pretty cool.  I got to ride the S4, it's a fun bike to be certain.  It has lot's of low down grunt, squirts you out of corners really well, and the Brembo brakes are dramatically better than those on my Gixxer.  It felt more like I was sitting 'on' the bike as apposed to 'in' the bike -if you know what I mean.  Riding it, with those fantastic brakes really makes me want to add a Brembo master cylinder and HH pads to the seven fiddy.  They're not cheap though...

I have ridden the VFR a number of times before, and it too has good low-down power, compared to my peaky Gixxer.  Still, in the end I do prefer the top-end rush of an in-line 4.  Things just felt 'right' after I climbed back on the Gixxer and wound it out a bit.

Anyway, we had great weather, cool and overcast, and the roads out this way, Southeastern PA, are really pretty nice.  I am fortunate to live close to some fairly twisty, reasonably well maintained roads.  Given the fact that we left the house @ 0700 there was no traffic to speak of either.  I do this once every few weeks, and each time I do I ask myself why I don't do this every week or even more often than that.

Anyway, thought I'd share.
