tragedy has struck me on my road trip to wyoming--i was readjusting my zumo 550 somewhere in south dakota at about 90 mph, and it flew off.  a trucker was kind enough to smash it to bits as i was on foot to retrieve it.

does anyone have the 6xx series zumo, or has anyone heard if it's worth the heftier price than the trusty z550?

R.I.P. zumo 550, you were a good friend.  sniff sniff...

Dean,

From what i have read on the Zumo forum the 660 is about the same as the 550 with a larger screen... similar bugs in the first releases  but the latest revisions seem to be working pretty well... least what i can gather from the chatter over there.

the 660  obviously has a larger screen (and thinner case ) , does stereo bluetooth .......but for my money thats about all the benefit i can see over the 550.... i thought you could get the 660 for about the same money as the 550 now ?

there is also the nuvi 500 which is waterproof.

dam truckers...... :wacko3:

i checked out a review on webbikeworld, from that article there's not much new and improved, other than the size of the screen.  as one poster replied to the review, the new one doesn't have the nice rubber buttons like the z550.  i agree, i'll take that and a smaller screen as opposed to fumbling a touchscreen with gloves but a bigger screen.

the real buttons are what made my mind up for me.... new doesnt always mean improved...... :good2:

if i find it hard to read the zumo 550 screen i will get some new glasses

From what I understand, most of the differences between the 660 and 550 have already been brought up save one that comes to mind.  The 550 supports Satellite XM radio service, whereas the 660 doesn't.  The newer 665 however, not only supports XM radio, but includes it as well.  Depending on whether or not XM service is something your interested in, that may be something to think about.
