So I finally got the money I'm starting to get things rolling the bike is all coming together real nice then brick wall. My right side front turn signal lens was broke when I got the bike so Ive known I have to replace for some time now. I just cant decide if I should go the customuniversal flush mount route or just get some mini stalk job. I am going for the more modern slim look so my question is what are you guys running and what are your exp with the two. Also some pics are always good.
Thanks for the help its really starting to drive me crazy :wacko3:

Cloud9,

Just my opinion but, I would worry more about the indicators being seen more than what they look like.  This is especially true in AnnArbor where at least 1/2 the drivers are also in the clouds (or it was back when I was there).  You might even want to consider getting some mirrors that also have turn indicators built in to add to your visibility.

Cheers,
Arnie

Oh yes people in Ann Arbor are still in the clouds I don't think that will ever change, I work for a law care company so I see them every day (sometimes I do wonder if I should be riding, but I am very safe when I do ride and drive or shit even walk for that matter). I'm keeping the rears stock for now so people behind me should get a good view and I think Ill be mounting the flush mounts high so they should be nice and visible. I have also thought alot about the mirrors with indicators. If any one has any opinions on those Id love to hear them.

I have the rizoma Zero-11 turn signals at the front (http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=59&products_id=642) and the givi wingrack turn signals in the rear.  I replaced the incandescent bulbs in the wing rack with these 4 watt LED bulbs (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F115x-x3X1W.htm) with fantastic results.  The Rizoma turns have a much wider field of view than the original signals, as you can see the indicators both to the sides and behind, whereas you can only see the stock turns from the front or slightly off center.  I just picked up a set of Rizoma mirrors off Ebay (these mirrors in black) because the Napoleon brand mirrors that were on the bike when I purchased it are rubbish;  They look like elephant ears, have the aerodynamics of barn doors, have crappy optics and have the lovely tendency of flopping back like a pissed off cat's ears whenever I go over 85mph.  Granted, for the price of the Rizomas I could perhaps buy a dozen el cheapo mirrors, but I like to be able to have a decent view of what's behind me.  This is especially hard to do when my current mirrors are in "angry kitty" mode, which is of course, when one would want to see just what is behind them.  My Givi cases have the admore lighting kit, because in a world full of special snowflakes driving with their heads up their asses one can never be too conspicuous.  I'll post some pics when I get the mirrors on, which should be over the weekend.

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

They're very small yes.  But they are orders of magnitude brighter than the stock ones.  Plus, I got tired of having to apologize to pedestrians for knocking them over with the goon length sidewalk sweepers while in town.

thanks E I think those signals are my new fav. I wanted the bike running for next weekend so I just got a new cover for my busted turn signal but will be getting the LEDs when I get the chance. Also I went the el cheapo rout with my mirrors and got some amozon specials. I could smack myself for that one they dont move enough to see anything behind me but if your in the lane next to me I can see great :dash2: :dash2: thanks for the pics I checked the website out and couldnt really picture how they looked on the bike. I also looked them up on youtube and damn they sure are bright.

Yeah, once I saw the Rizoma mirrors on a friend's RF900 and saw how well made and beautiful they are I was done.  I got them off Ebay for quite a bit less than what they normally go for but they still weren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination.  But they're gorgeous, provide a wide, vibration free image at any speed and practically eliminate glare at night;  When I take that into account I would buy them again even if they were more expensive.  PJ's keeps all of the rizoma stuff in stock and has good prices.  Also Main Street bikes on Ebay carries Rizoma, and their prices are hard to beat.  Either one has great service and fast delivery.

For what its worth....from state to state it will vary, but...my shorty/mini turn sigs didnt pass state inspection.  they had to be 3" of surface area.....it never fails to p*ss me off when i think about it. Even as bright as the LED's are, they still had an issue with them!
