I can't get a Vistacruise to work either.  It always binds against the grip on every bike I tried it on.  However, I did use the thumb lock lever thingy and duplicated the rest (more or less) out of 18 ga. steel. Works ok.

since not all injection molded piece are the same i found a good technique for getting the vista cruise to work properly..... just wrap some sandpaper (i used emory cloth) around the throttle tube and work the vista cruise around until it takes the same shape as the throttle tube.

holds great and no binding.

Throttlemeister for me... works great and really finishes off the look of the bike. A little tricky to get the hang of but once you get used to it, you'll love it.
