I also hand made some. Just cut everything off of the clamp  of the gixxer clippons. And fabricated a set matching the stock fj clippons.
I actually hand fabricated 2 sets. The second set. I tried to use thinner aluminum stock.(to make them slightly lighter:) Came down from a wheelie a little too hard. And they slightly bent. So decided not to use them anymore. And went with the apex. Still running the original hand made ones on my 89.

Does anyone know if the 93 yzf750sp front wheel is compatible with the fj. I have one brand new in the box. A guy from work nocked my bike off the kickstand. When he rolled his BMW off it's center stand. His insurance replaced everything that got scratched. (After checking it out. 1 of 2 93 yzf750sp's registered for the street in the US:) the original just had a small scratch on the rim. So I never replaced it. If it'll fit one of my fjs I'll have to find it and dig it out.

Dan, I'm sure the axle on the yzf750 wheel is at least a 17mm or maybe a 18, 19 or 20mm
You might get special bearings to fit the 750 rim with an ID that reduces it down to the FJ's axle size of 15mm.
If the bearings ID on the 750 rim is 17mm you do have enough meat on the FJ fork lowers to drill out the FJ axle holes from 15mm to 17mm....no such luck with the larger 18,19, or 20mm axles.

I checked our axle table in the Files but didn't see a listing for the 1993 YZF750 R

The 1994-1997 YZF750 R shows to be a 20mm front axle.

Cheers
