If anyone out there has an 01-05 FZ1 or the forks from one on their FJ, I need someone to measure the outside diameter at the very top of the lower portion(stanchion). I am looking to install a fork brace on my 89 FJ with 95 YZF600R forks.

YZF600 forks are not the same as the FZ1..... i'm not getting your purpose.

Maybe the fork brace is FROM an FZ1? He's wondering if it will fit YZF600R forks?

You are correct. I am wondering if an FZ1 fork brace will work on my 89 with 95 YZF forks. My understanding is that an FZ1 is the same distance between the fork legs as an FJ. If the 95 YZF fork lowers are the same diameter as the FZ1, than I am willing to give it try.
