Well...it wasn't today, but it was this past Sunday.

A local bike themed "emporium" business/cafe held their annual Classic Japanese Bike Day, at Weedon Bec, only 15 miles from home. Our local VJMC Section had been approached to provide some Display Bikes so I popped along with the FJ, thinking I'd go a see what turned up and park outside the (internal) display, have drink and a bacon sandwich (VJMC membership card got me discounted prices), mingle with the visitors and then take a longer scenic ride home..........it didn't quite work out like that.

Within a couple of minutes of leaving home at 8am, a rainstorm hit which lasted the whole way to Weedon Bec and continued as I parked up outside the display area. I was absolutely soaked and with no sign of the rain abating, I decided to join the display and wheeled my bike indoors - this meant I couldn't leave until 3pm, once the public had left the display area, so I didn't get my really scenic ride home.

But....all was not lost, the bikes that arrived both for display and purely as visitors were amazing, there were loads of riding buddies that popped in to visit and plenty of new friendships were made. All in all, a great day. To cap it off, the sun began to shine around 10.30am and the rest of the day glorious. My riding gear still hadn't dried out though, by the time we left, but I did to ride home behind my pal Chris on his highly tuned and modified 1971 Kawasaki H1 500 Flat tracker custom. The sound and the smell were fantastic !!

Here's a few photo's from the display and following these a few of my favourites out of the hundreds of bikes that turned up throughout the day. A superb array !!!!!!
