Cam chain adjustment

Hi folks
What's right procedure for adjusting the cam chain ?

Stock style cam chain adjuster?  Or aftermarket manual adjuster?

If stock - once installed is good to go - no need to adjust.   

If an aftermarket manual adjuster the process is a little more complicated and takes a while longer.   First - buy the stock adjuster (you generally have to wait for it to come in).  Next, remove the manual adjuster and install the stock one.  Done.
